De CasAnus kreeg zijn vorm naar het menselijke spijsverteringsorgaan, van de tong via de maag en darmen tot de anus. Terwijl CasAnus anatomisch correct is, is het laatste gedeelte opgeblazen tot reusachtige proporties, zodat het plaats biedt aan een hotelkamer.

Midden 90-er jaren gaf CAST (Centrum voor Architectuur en Stedenbouw Tilburg) Joep van Lieshout de opdracht om een mobiele tentoonstellingsruimte te ontwikkelen, dat CAST mobiel werd genoemd. Er is een aantal jaren gebruik van gemaakt op plaatsen waar iets gebeurde op het terrein van architectuur en stedenbouw. De verplaatsing was echter nogal complex, zodat uiteindelijk gekozen werd voor een vaste locatie nabij het kantoor. Daar bleef het werk langere tijd ongebruikt, een onwenselijke situatie. Een nieuwe eigenaar werd gevonden: de Verbeke Foundation. In 2015 werd CAST mobiel verhuisd van Tilburg naar Kemzeke, waar de mobiele expositieruimte wordt ingezet voor exposities en kunstprojecten.

This artwork got it’s form after the human digestive organ, from tongue through stomach, intestines to the anus. While the CasAnus is anatomical correct, the last part is blown into immense proportions, in order to make it a hotelroom.

CAST mobile

Middle 90 ‘s CAST (Center for architecture and urbanism Tilburg, The Netherlands) asked Joep van Lieshout to develop a mobile exhibition space, called CAST Mobile. A number of years it was used in places where something was happening in the field of architecture and urban planning. The movement, however, was quite complex, so ultimately was chosen for a fixed location near the office. It wasn’t used anymore, an undesirable situation. Searching for a new owner they found the Verbeke Foundation, who bought the work. In 2015 CAST Mobile was moved from Tilburg to Kemzeke, where the mobile exhibit space will be used for exhibitions and artprojects.
