The Waterharpet is een autonoom instrument dat bespeeld wordt door water. Een continue staande golf in het aquarium wordt gemeten en geïnterpreteerd als een sinusgolf. Het instrument gebruikt deze data om de snaar en hoorn configuratie boven het aquarium te bespelen. Op deze manier worden chaotische variaties in golfpatronen hoorbaar gemaakt die uit de trage structuur van het ‘watergeluid’ komen.

The Waterharpet is an autonomous instrument that is played by water. A continuous standing wave in the aquarium is measured and interpreted as a sinewave. The instrument uses these data to play the string and horn configuration located above the aquarium. This way the chaotic variations in wave patterns are made audible leaving the inert structure of the ‘watersound’ intact.
