Matthijs Bosman kreeg in het kader van het onderzoek ‘Archief voor de Toekomst’ de opdracht om na te denken over zijn nalatenschap met dit monument als resultaat.
In ‘Archief voor de toekomst’ onderzocht bkkc samen met de Verbeke Foundation de problematiek rondom het behoud en beheer van oeuvres van hedendaagse kunstenaars. Het project bestond uit het onderzoek, vier exposities, een symposium en de e-publicatie, die aangevuld kan worden met nieuwe inzichten en ontwikkelingen.
Vragen die gesteld zijn:
Ben je je bewust van je eigen oeuvre of focus je enkel op het realiseren van nieuw werk? Hoe wil je gezien en later onthouden worden? En welke overwegingen liggen ten grondslag aan wat je laat zien en achterlaat als je er zelf niet meer voor kunt zorgen? Een reflectie op dilemma’s rond de aard, de omvang en het behoud en beheer van het eigen oeuvre en het belang van je nalatenschap.

Within the framework of the investigation ‘archive for the future’ Mathhijs Bosman got the command to think about his legacy, with as a result this monument.
In ‘Archive for the future’ the bkkc together with the Verbeke Foundation examined the issues around the conservation and management of oeuvres of contemporary artists.
