Gravitatie, zwaartekracht, is een alomtegenwoordige maar desondanks mysterieuze kracht. Alhoewel gravitatie een enorme invloed heeft op het menselijk bestaan, ieder jaar verantwoordelijk is voor duizenden doden en ontsnapping aan deze wereld onmogelijk maakt, weet nog niemand hoe deze aantrekkingskracht tussen twee massalichamen precies tot stand komt. Al honderden jaren doen wetenschappers en leken vergeefs onderzoek naar de diepere achtergrond van gravitatie, en de mogelijkheden voor het opheffen ervan. Het Gravitation Neutralisation van Overbeek Research Centre (GNORC) heeft een geheel eigen weg ingeslagen in het gravitatie onderzoek. Met een serendipische aanpak hoopt het GNORC, onder leiding van dr. ir. M.W.R.M van Overbeek, antwoorden te vinden op de vele vragen rond gravitatie.

Een katapult is ontwikkeld om projectielen weg te schieten, dat deden de Romeinen al, al hadden ze nog geen elastiek. Niemand schoot vertikaal omhoog om begrijpelijke redenen. Een bijna vertikaal omhooggeschoten object maakt echter een hele mooie beweging. De versnelling als het losgelaten elastiek zich samentrekt, de vlucht omhoog.

Dan: de parabolische traagheid op het hoogtepunt. Waarna het object onheroepelijk het einde in de grond versneld tegemoet gaat. De katapult is ontworpen om kruisbeelden in de lucht te schieten.

Er heeft een eenmalige performance plaatsgevonden op 14 juni 2008 tijdens de opening van de tentoonstelling “Vision in Motion – Motion in Vision” van de Verbeke Foundation. De katapult is daar te bezichtigen en is op het terrein blijven staan om er te vergaan.

Although gravitation has a huge effect on human existence, is responsible for thousands of deaths every year and escape from this world, no one knows how impossible this attraction between two mass bodies exactly. Do scientists and lay people for hundreds of years in vain search for the deeper background of gravitation, and the possibilities for lifting it. The Gravitation Neutralisation Vickey Research Centre (GNORC) has its own individual path in the gravitational research. With a serendipische approach it hopes GNORC, led by Dr. ir. M. w. r. M Vickey, find answers to the many questions about gravitation.

A catapult is developed to projectiles away to shoot, did the Romans, though they had no elastic. No one shot vertically up for understandable reasons. An almost vertical skyrocketed, however, makes a very nice object movement. The acceleration as the released elastic contracts, the flight up.

Then: the parabolic slowness at the peak. After which the object onheroepelijk the end in the ground Express. The Catapult is designed to crucifixes in the air to shoot.

There was a one-time performance occurred on June 14, 2008 during the opening of the exhibition “Vision in Motion-Motion in Vision” of the Verbeke Foundation. The Catapult is there and remain on site is to perish.
