Dutch sky, a strip of grass, and a stuffed cow. Without the inscription “do not take anything and certainly no milk” this could be an idyllic landscape. En Cas d’empoisonnement was exhibited for the first time in 1993 in a red-light district of Sonsbeek (Arnhem). At that time little was known about the transmission of HIV and the risk related to consuming milk and meat of genetically engineered cows. The cow on display belongs to the first generation of genetically modified animals.
